FEINT OF HART

Henri Fabergé's Feint of Hart is an episodic "punk opera" combining scripted theatre, improvised comedy, live rock music, video projections, conceptual dance, ambitious production design, and a show-within-a-show cabaret to include guest performers.

Synopsis:
Boyce Naval Academy, a school built on tradition and discipline, welcomes the arrival of a young cadet from a powerful family. But he is more drawn to the bohemian allure of a cabaret revue at the local arts college, and a secret affair with a rival cadet throws into question the stability of the status quo.

It was first presented as seven 60 minute performances, from October 2009 to April 2010, at Hart House (University of Toronto). The series played to over-capacity audiences (150+) for its entire run.

A version of the series was commissioned to be remounted at a private event in July 2010.

An abridged version was presented in a 2-week run at Videofag (Toronto), July 1-14 2013.
